McLaren, the Americas has produced a short film featuring Justin Bell and Jay Leno, showcasing the capabilities of the new McLaren 750S, some 30 years after Bell’s historic drive in the McLaren F1 GTR at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The film highlights the precision and technology of today’s 750S while celebrating the legacy of the McLaren F1 GTR and its success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which was piloted to a podium by Justin Bell, Derek Bell and co-driver Andy Wallace.

In the film, Leno also showcases his personal McLaren F1, renowned for its groundbreaking design and performance. At the time, the McLaren F1 represented the pinnacle of automotive engineering, as the new McLaren 750S does now. This crossover bridges the gap between McLaren’s storied racing history, and today’s supercar.

Said Bell of the capabilities of the 750S: “(With the F1) I had a six-speed manual, just over 600 horsepower. I had to be so delicate with the manual shift gauge. And yet here, I have these electrifying, downshifts, upshifts, from the seven-speed gearbox, that I could’ve only dreamed about back then!”

Bell continues: “You know how they say that the Apollo 13 mission ran on technology inferior to a modern-day iPhone? If that’s the case, then my F1 GTR from 1995, was a British red phone box, and this is a supercomputer.”

Leno, a legendary automobile collector and former late-night television host, said of the 750S: “I’m so impressed with McLaren as a car company because you really do feel your one with the car when you’re in there. The difference is really in driving it. … How is it different from other cars? Well, when you drive you really can tell.”

Watch the Justin Bell/Jay Leno x McLaren 750S Film here and look out for the final scene that, on the anniversary of McLarens famous debut at Le Mans, hints at something special to come from Justin and Derek Bell.

Here I point out possible future visual references to the Robocop, Aliens & Predator horror media franchises present in the 1959 film The Tingler.

*Due to the graphic violence content of some of these movies viewer discretion is advised.*

One link between these movies is the Ennis House located in Los Angeles, California, designed by architect Frank Lloyd Webber and used as a backdrop for location shooting of many movies TV series. Alien (1979) director Ridley Scott used it for Blade Runner in 1982 and Black Rain in 1989. Scenes for Predator 2 (1990) were shot here and Director William Castle used it as a backdrop for the original House On Haunted Hill in 1959 with Vincent Price. What appears to be interior shots from the location may also be seen in (their second collaboration) The Tingler in 1959.

Science fiction / horror franchises Alien, Predator, Robocop & Terminator share the same fictional universe in the comic book world. Titles based on these works were published by Dark Horse.

Other links in the Tingler:
- The creature appears as a severed human spine.
-The setting of the first Predator movie was in central America. A serpent warrior (similar to that of the Mayan indians) piece of stone sculpted artwork can be seen in The Tingler.
- At one point in The Tingler the creature enters a crowded movie theater revealing some of the chairs of the movie audience. The feet of the chairs are similar to the 3 toed foot of police droid ED-209 in Robocop (1987).
- Actress Winona Ryder was in Tim Burton-directed Edward Scissorhands in 1989 with Johnny Depp & Vincent Price. She was later in Alien Resurrection, the 4th film with actress Sigourney Weaver.

York Castle is a fortified complex in the city of York, England. It consists of a sequence of castles, prisons, law courts, and other buildings, which were built over the last nine centuries on the south side of the River Foss. The now ruined keep of the medieval Norman castle is commonly referred to as Clifford's Tower. Built originally on the orders of William I to dominate the former Viking city of Jórvík, the castle suffered a tumultuous early history before developing into a major fortification with extensive water defenses. After a major explosion in 1684 rendered the remaining military defenses uninhabitable, York Castle continued to be used as a jail and prison until 1929.

The first motte and bailey castle on the site was built in 1068 following the Norman conquest of York. After the destruction of the castle by rebels and a Viking army in 1069, York Castle was rebuilt and reinforced with extensive water defenses, including a moat and an artificial lake. York Castle formed an important royal fortification in the north of England.

In 1190, 150 local Jews were murdered in a pogrom in the timber castle keep; most of them died by suicide in order not to fall into the hands of the mob. Henry III rebuilt the castle in stone in the middle of the 13th century, creating a keep with a unique quatrefoil design, supported by an outer bailey wall and a substantial gatehouse. During the Scottish wars between 1298 and 1338, York Castle was frequently used as the center of royal administration across England, as well as an important military base of operations.
Thanks and credit to Google Earth Studio for this aerial video.

Lumley Castle is a 14th-century quadrangular castle at Chester-le-Street in the North of England, near the city of Durham, and a property of the Earl of Scarbrough. It is a Grade I listed building. It is currently a hotel.
It is named after its original creator, Sir Ralph Lumley, who converted his family manor house into a castle in 1389 after returning from wars in Scotland. However, after being implicated in a plot to overthrow Henry IV, he was imprisoned and ultimately executed, forfeiting his lands to the Earl of Somerset. In 1421 the ownership of the castle reverted to Sir Ralph Lumley's grandson, Thomas.

During the time of John Lumley, 1st Baron Lumley, he altered the windows of the castle to let more light in, installed a new fireplace in the great hall along with a lavabo of black and white marble, adorned by a pelican, which is the crest of the Lumley coat of the arms. On the accession of James VI and I as King of England in 1603, he journeyed from Edinburgh to London to take his new throne. On 13 April, en route from Newcastle upon Tyne to Durham, he stopped briefly at the castle as a guest of Lord Lumley. The King James Suite hotel room commemorates this connection with the king. However, the suite was previously the chapel; the king did not stay at Lumley overnight, instead traveling later that day and staying at Durham Castle.

Thanks and credit to Google Earth Studio for this aerial video.
