_meet-the-makers-introducing-new-video-series-on-yorkshire-craftspeople.webp "Some of Yorkshireâs most inspiring craftspeople are being profiled in a special series of short films and magazine features thanks to a pioneering new collaboration.<br/><br/>The Yorkshire Post and Hull-based video production company Nova Studios have produced a new series called Meet The Makers, shining a light on some of the regionâs most remarkable craftspeople.<br/><br/>Nova has created a series of high-quality short films and profile features, which will run on The Yorkshire Post website and in its award-winning Saturday Magazine from May 18. The work is accompanied in print by pictures taken by The Yorkshire Postâs skilled photographers.<br/><br/>Those featured in the series include a jeweller, a potter, a bicycle maker and a fashion designer.<br/><br/>The collaboration has been almost a year in the making after Nova pitched the idea to Yorkshire Post editor James Mitchinson.<br/><br/>Matt Stephenson, director of Nova, said: âWith two newspaper-trained journalists on the team, we loved bringing together our journalistic and editorial skills with everything we know about digital film-making.<br/><br/><br/>âThe makers in the films weâve produced really care about craft and tradition - and weâre very proud to be associated with them - their values reflect our own. Thereâs so much disposable product and content out there, itâs great to make films that are anything but disposable - we wanted to emphasise enduring quality, and to do that for the Yorkshire Post, a publication that is so embedded in the cultural life of our region.â<br/><br/>Catherine Scott, Yorkshire Post Magazine editor, said: âThis has been an inspiring project to work on and we have been blown away by the quality of Novaâs work. The films they have produced are essentially The Yorkshire Post Magazine in video form - profiling the human stories of inspiring people from our area.<br/><br/>âWe canât wait for people to see the finished films and features over the coming weeks.â")

_one-in-four-adults-prefer-it-firm-in-the-bedroom-when-it-comes-to-mattresses.webp "One in four adults prefer it firm in the bedroom - when it comes to mattresses, at least.<br/><br/>But a study of 2,000 adults revealed 28 per cent thought they'd prefer a firm mattress only to realise they need something softer.<br/><br/>And 23 per cent are currently sleeping on something theyâre not totally happy with.<br/><br/>To show how to make the right decision, eveSleep created an updated version of the children's classic 'The Princess and the Pea'.<br/><br/>At a pop-up event, they created two stacks of mattresses - with one hiding a giant size pea underneath.<br/><br/>Consumers were put to the test to see if they were sensitive sleepers and could detect the hidden âpeaâ while lying on a stack of mattresses.<br/><br/>Lisa Richards from the online mattress maker, which commissioned the research to launch wunderflip, its double-sided adaptive comfort range, said: âSleep isn't just a luxury, it's a necessity for a healthy life - the right mattress is your partner in achieving that rejuvenating rest. <br/><br/>âIt's about finding the perfect balance of support and comfort to ensure you wake up every morning feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world.<br/><br/>âYour mattress plays a crucial role in the quality of your sleep, affecting everything from your mood to your productivity the next day.<br/><br/>âThatâs why weâre helping keen snoozers make the right choice when shopping online, giving them a choice of two different comfort ratings.â<br/><br/>The study also revealed of those who donât like their current mattress, 43 per cent said it causes them more discomfort than it does relief.<br/><br/>And sleeping on an unsuitable mattress is most likely to lead to pain in the lower back (56 per cent) or the neck (36 per cent).<br/><br/>While 27 per cent will feel the strain across the shoulders, and 14 per cent will even report pain in their legs.<br/><br/>More than a quarter (26 per cent) even admit the quality of their mattress will âvery muchâ impact their mood on any given morning.<br/><br/>And 32 per cent admit they have trouble falling asleep regularly, according to the OnePoll.com figures.<br/><br/>The âBed Battle: Team Firm vs Team Softâ experience will take place at Gallery@Oxo in Londonâs Southbank from Thursday 2nd May to Sunday 5th May.<br/><br/>Lisa Richards added: \")
