The couple started caring for Brianna in tragic circumstances: they were best friends with Brianna's parent's, Brian and Catherene Johnson, before a car accident killed the pair on April 23, 2021. Brianna was trapped in the vehicle for four hours before she was helicoptered to Aurora to undergo treatment for a fractured leg and a cut on her head. Under David and Christine's care, Brianna was accepted into Kiddie Kampus, a pre-preschool offered by Alliance Public Schools, where she made friends and found a support network. When her adoption was set to become official, Brianna's teachers for the previous two years suggested holding a class celebration. The children in Brianna's class were encouraged to make signs and drawings â and on March 4, they headed to Box Butte County Courthouse in Alliance on their school bus. Once Brianna, David and Christine's session were completed, the family headed out through the courtroom doors, where they were greeted by Brianna's classmates, who they did not know would be showing up. Having seen her friends, Brianna started jumping for joy in the lobby while her new parents fought back tears.")

He's honestly the coolest dog ever. <br/><br/>âMost dogs would run away when you start a Harley because theyâre so loud. <br/><br/>âOreo would start following me around and I thought he wanted a ride. <br/><br/>âI fabricated an aluminium box which I mounted on the rack on the back of bike â and the rest was history. <br/><br/>âHe loves it. Heâs never tried to jump out - he's gotten so used to riding now he rides partially with his front paws on my back rest to see over my shoulder. <br/><br/>âHeâs a good rider, he knows how to shift his weight and heâs pretty amazing.â <br/><br/>Joe, wife Penny, 60, and their two daughters adopted Oreo from the local humane society after Joe provided volunteer welding services.<br/><br/>Abbey, 18 and sister Erin, 21, chose the pup â who they believe is a black Lab and weiner dog mix â and Joe says he had his doubts initially. <br/><br/>But Oreo quickly won him round and now the pair are inseparable.<br/><br/>Battery technician Joe bought his Harley Road King brand new in 2003 for ÂŖ20k and says heâs owned bikes since he was 12. <br/><br/>Joe and Oreo ride from spring to autumn â with Joe saying theyâre on the bike âfull timeâ. <br/><br/>âEvery time I take him out, Iâm surprised it hasnât caused a car crash, people are so distracted,â said Joe. <br/><br/>âHe just wants to do anything I'm doing. If I climb into a go-kart or anything the dog wants some of that. <br/><br/>âMost girls will say 'that's the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life' - my standard answer is 'why thank you, but what do you think of the dog'. <br/><br/>âI can walk out into the garage and bump the starter on the Harley and that dog will come running down the hallway every time - it's the funniest thing to see.â")
