Description: In November 1942 a Polish resistance fighter, Jan Karski, came to London with an eye-witness account of the holocaust. The Joint Intelligence Committee rejected his evidence as an exaggeration to elicit support for the Polish underground. The decision was kept from Ministers. The related intelligence reports remain classified, even today.
